Skeeter

Guitar player, vocalist E.T. Donovan Jr. ( "Skeeter" to those who know him well) is a Richmond, VA native who started playing guitar at 12 years old, learning his first few chords from his father. He grew up in a rural part of Central Virginia in a household filled with traditional country music and early rock and roll which heavily influenced his early musical endeavours. Over the years he has played many different genres of music in many different bands from country to disco and big band to metal - playing guitar or bass and singing. His playing style is heavily influenced by southern rock, blues and country music. "Skeeter" plays Gibson and Fender guitars and a Roland guitar synth through a Peavey XXX half stack. Skeeter

Johnny

Guitarist Johnny Vaughan is a Richmond, Virginia native who spent his teenage years moving around in Florida where southern rock and blues was a huge influence. After returning to Virginia, he performed with several bands in the Richmond and Charlottesville areas playing everything from blues to heavy metal. He has produced or co-produced several recording projects and he loves playing in live venues. His playing style reflects a deep affection for the blues, but he also loves playing classic covers and experimenting with originals. Johnny's favorite guitars are Gibson Les Pauls plugged into Marshall or Carvin amps. Johnny

Wave

Vocalist and harp player Waverly Milor is originally from the Washington, DC area, having moved to the Shenandoah Valley in December 2007. Since moving to Ruckersville, he's played with South 29, Chris Winter and The Biscuit Rollers and now has found a home with Zen Daddy.. He brings 20 plus years experience as front man and vocalist and adds another instrument, harmonica, to Zen Daddy's arsenal. Between 2003 and 2008 , Wave played over 100 shows a year in bars and dives all over the DC area and earned a reputation as one of the region's most dynamic live performers. His peers in the Washington Area Music Association honored Wave by nominating him for Best Male Blues Vocalist in 2007. Wave uses Hohner and Seydel harmonicas, Peavey amps and a variety of harmonica microphones; his newest favorite is a 1960 Western Electric telephone. Wave

Mike

Drummer Mike Galvez started playing drums at age 11 and by age 16 was performing in clubs he was not yet old enough to enter otherwise. Originally from Texas, Mike's musical influences range from rock, blues and funk to jazz and country. He has played in numerous bands over the years, traveled many miles while on the road, and eaten more bad food after 2AM than he cares to admit. Josh

Bassist Josh Mauldin hails from Montgomery, AL, smack dab in the middle o' the Deep South. He cut his teeth playing in garage bands as a teenager rocking it out to 90's alternative and the omnipresent classic rock that permeated the air waves. After high school, he moved to the big city of Atlanta where he played in the True Tones Jazz Quartet and improvisational jam bands. Moving up to the far north of Charlottesville and joining Zen Daddy has brought him back full circle to his rock & roll roots. Josh plays many different basses from 4 to 6-strings and upright to electrics, though always with his fingers. Josh is most often spotted with his Fender Precision Lyte plugged into a Carvin or Gallien-Krueger amp. Josh

Steve

Sound Engineer Steve Boggs was born in Charleston, West Virginia and grew up in a household that always had music. His mother sang for various traditional country bands that usually rehearsed at their house. Steve joined the army at an early age and it was there while stationed in Germany that his love of music began to grow. He played guitar for a while but didn't get really serious about music until the early 80's when he bought his first sound system and started working as a sound engineer. He has worked for many local country and rock acts in Richmond, Virginia as well as a few regional acts including : Red Alert, Dodgin' Bullets, Bootleg, Virginia, Kronos, Highways and Heartaches, Wolf Town, Train and Gypsy.
